Good evening All,
The weather here has been dull and wet again today, the sun has gone on holiday I think lol!! Hope you've
all had better weather than we have.
Tonight I would like to share one of my canvases made for Sue & Harvey of Imagination Crafts. This was made for their shows on the Hochanda T.V Channel at the end of May 2016. Those of you who like the beautiful little creatures - Seahorses, this one is for you lol! I used an 8"x10" canvas and decorated it using Imagination's gorgeous seahorses stencil, Art Cutz, Sparkle Mediums and some die cuts.
( 1 ) Add some small pieces of white threads to the top. bottom and sides and coat the canvas with white
Gesso, sealing the threads in place.
( 2 ) Lay the broken circles stencil on both side edges and spread the stencil medium over the stencil using
the metal spatula. Remove stencil and leave the images to dry.
( 3 ) Scrim and Art Cutz leaves glued in position, then coated with white Gesso
( 4 ) Sprayed with blue and green Mixed Media spray inks, adding some white ink.
( 5 ) Seahorses added using gold, lavender and platinum Sparkle Mediums with a metal spatula.
( 6 ) When the seahorse is dry, add the foilage using lapis blue Sparkle Medium.
( 7 ) Paint the Art Cutx hexagonals with the Antique gold Starlight paint, then go over with the bronze
Alchemy Wax and glue to the bottom right.
( 8 ) Glue a small piece of old wood on top of the hexagonals and add a stamped shell, coloured with the
Inca gold wax, to the piece of wood.
( 9 ) Glue some vermicullite pieces to the bottom of the canvas to form the seabed. (This was left over after having our chimney lined for our wood burner). Kept it just in case it might be useful lol!!
(10) Colour the fern with the bronze, Jade and Cobalt Alchemy Waxes.
(11) Die-cut 5 cogs and one padlock from black card and colour with the silver and bronze waxes. Glue
a piece of black card over the keyhole on the back of the padlock. Glue the padlock to the bottom
left using silicone glue.
(12) Colour the cog wheels in the same way as you did for the padlock and glue to the top right, a couple
glued flat and the others, with silicone glue, to add some dimension to your canvas.
(13) Add a little bronze wax over the scrim and broken circles.
(14) Add some small white circles to the background, using white Gesso and an old wine bottle cork or
similar. Stamp part of a pocket watch in the top right corner and stamp a sentiment, using a Stazon
Ultramarine pad.
That's my canvas finished, hope you like it. Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by my blog and many thanks if you have also left me a comment. I really appreciate each one and I do try to reciprocate by visiting your blog too.
See you all again very soon. I will be showing you some 'sneaky peeks' soon as Imagination Crafts will be on Hochanda T.V Channel with a One Day Special on June 20th 2016. Enjoy the rest of your week.
Love and rainbows,
Happy Crafting Hugs Jennifer xx.
