Hello there my blogging Friends, Followers and Visitors,
Thank you so much for your lovely comments and your visits to my blog. I do hope you all enjoyed your visit. It has been a quiet couple of days for me craft wise, as Hubby and I have been decorating.
I love the end results but I don't like all the preparation, mess and the painting lol! The only painting I like is on my cards lol! We still have more to do but maybe next week lol! as I must now concentrate once again on making my samples for Sue & Harvey of Imagination Crafts. They have shows coming up during November, I think, during the second week but I will let you know as soon as the dates are confirmed. I will of course be sharing some 'sneaky peeks' a few days before, as I normally do. Well onto tonight's card. This was another card made for Jane's Macmillan Nurses coffee morning last month. The bird, flowers and sentiment stamp used were given free with a craft magazine, sorry I cannot remember which one.
Begin by cutting a square of white card , just slightly smaller than the white 6" x 6" scalloped edged, base card. Colour the outside edges of this piece of square card with the Antique Gold Starlight paint, (no need to paint the rest, as only the edges will be on show, waste not want not lol!) Next matt this onto the base card.
Matt a smaller rectangle of lavender paper onto the gold edged card, leaving a border of the gold showing.
Stamp the bird and the sentiment onto the lavender paper, using a Versamark pad and heat emboss with gold embossing powder.
Take a piece of white card approximately three inches by five inches. Drop a drop of light green and light blue Mixed Media Inks onto your work mat, add some water to dilute the colour. Lay your
piece of white card onto this and move it around a little, until you are happy with the results. Leave this to dry, then spray with a little Shake and Gilt Gold. Randomly stamp feathers over this card, using a black ink pad. Matt this onto the left-hand side of the base card.
Die-cut two feathers from navy blue card and rub some Antique Gold Alchemy Wax over the embossed surface of the feathers, I used my finger but you could use a blending tool or a piece of cut 'n' dry foam. Glue these to the left-hand side of the base card, bending the feathers slightly, using silicone glue.
Stamp the main bird image again onto some white card with Versamark and heat emboss with gold embossing powder. Colour the flowers with the inks, then cut them out. Glue them onto the original stamped image using silicone glue to give a 3D effect.
Make an insert for the card, stamp a flower on the left of the insert with Versamark and heat emboss with gold as previously. Colour this flower with diluted ink. Stamp the sentiment 'It's Your Birthday' onto the right hand side of the insert, again embossing in gold.
Glue three blue gemstones to the top right and three to the bottom left of the lavender paper and that's this card finished! Hope you like it.
Thank you so much for visiting my blog. Please pop back as I will be back soon with another project.
Love and rainbows,
Crafty Hugs, Jennifer xx.
Stunning Jennifer! Love the feathers. We will be starting our decorating just over a week from now before the new wood flooring is put down.

Absolutely gorgeous Jennifer, beautiful colours and design.
ReplyDeleteWe are having our living room decorated in November, this time around someone else doing it, it's where to put all the furniture in a glorified henhouse that's the stressful part, and of course the cat freaking out, oh well, have a lovely weekend, Kate x
Thank you so much for your lovely comment Kate. Good luck with your decorating. I have to agree with you, where to put the furniture lol! The whole house seems to be untidy lol! as things get put in other rooms. We're nearly finished, then it's the kitchen next!
DeleteHugs my friend. Love Jennifer xx.
