Art Deco Lady Lauren.

Good evening Followers, Friends and Visitors,

Time again for another post from me, where does the time disappear too lol?   Hope you are all having a good week.   At last we have finished our decorating yeah!! we are now ready for the festive season, apart from all the Christmas decorations of course!   just too soon to put them up yet lol!   Have you bought any Christmas presents yet?   I'm way behind as I have none at the moment.   I have just finished making my Christmas cards though, 45 of them,  they just need inserts then they are ready to be written when the time comes.   I decided not to buy any cards from the shops this year and to make my own.

Thank you all for your comments on my last post, really appreciate them.   My card tonight was made for a Hochanda T.V. show in May 2017,  for Sue & Harvey of Imagination Crafts.   I have used one of their beautiful Art Deco Lady stencils, Lauren.

Lay the Art Deco lady  stencil onto the centre of the white 7" x 7" base card and stipple the lilac blue Starlight paint through the design, using the stencil brush.   Add a little of the bright maroon on top in the odd place.   Remove the  stencil.

Make a mask of Lauren by drawing around her onto a piece of paper, cut this out  and lay it on top of the coloured image.   Hold this in position, over the original image of Lauren, then lay the 'wavy square' stencil on top.

Dab the three colours of green distress inks (mowed lawn, shabby shutters & peeled paint),   through the design using a piece of cut 'n' dry foam, then stipple a little of the bright maroon Starlight paint over parts of the design, using the stencil brush.

Remove the stencil and the mask.   Wash the stencil.   Place the Lauren stencil back in position and using the 'foiling technique,' add some crushed strawberry Sparkle Medium, using your finger.   This pushes the Sparkle Medium to the edges of the stencil design.

Stamp the corner stamp (which was free with a craft magazine some time ago)  in the top left and bottom right corners, using some bright maroon Starlight paint.   I do this by putting  a little of the bright maroon Starlight paint onto a piece of cut 'n' dry foam, making my own little ink pad, then a quick spray of water onto the stamp, (as the Starlight paint dries very quickly) then dabbing the paint on the stamp, works a treat, so colours can be matched to your other images).

Colour a piece of maroon card with the crushed strawberry Sparkle Medium, using a metal spatula or a brayer and when dry, punch out four large flowers using the Woodware punch and one small flower using the Carl punch.

Colour another piece of  white card with the lilac blue and bright maroon Starlight paints, and when dry, punch out  four small flowers.

Glue the small blue flowers to the larger ones, then glue in position.   Glue the small red flower to the top right.   Add four small  green pearls to each flower centre.    Well that's it finished.   Thanks again for visiting my blog and  I hope you have enjoyed seeing my card.   Take care of yourselves and have a great weekend.   I'll be back again soon.

                                                           Love and rainbows,

                                                           Hugs   Jennifer xx.

  1. This is gorgeous Jennifer, love the colours. We have finished decorating too but not put anything back yet as waiting for new wood flooring to be laid next week before I can get the house back to some sort of normality.
