Hi there,
Hope you have all enjoyed your weekend, despite the dreadful weather! We have had heavy rain and strong winds here today, a good day for crafting lol! so I have been busy making my samples for Imagination Craft's next T.V. shows, in between making meals and doing housework!
Tonight's card is one of my favourite subjects, Art Deco, meet Julia lol! she is just so elegant. I decided to make this card using a combination of gold and black, love these colours together.
I used a 7"x7" white base card on which to work. Die-cut a large grand label from black card using the Spellbinder's die set. Matt this onto the white base card.
Take a piece of white card and lay the Julia Art Deco Lady stencil onto it, having masked off her dress and hat. Using a stencil brush, stipple the black Starlight paint over the remaining design, ie: chair, arms face, glass and neck. Remove and wash the stencil.
Lay the stencil back in position on the white card and using the metal spatula, spread the golden delicious Sparkle Medium over her hat and dress. You may find it easier to mask off her face, neck, arms and the chair you have just done, so as not to get the gold on these parts. This does take time and quite a bit of patience but I feel is worth it, when you see the end result. Remove the stencil and leave the image to dry.
Cut this image out using the next smallest label die and stamp the corner stamp in each corner, using a black ink pad. This stamp was given free with a craft magazine some time ago, sorry cannot remember which mag.
Stamp the birthday greeting to the right of Julia, again using a black ink pad. Matt this onto the black label.
All that remains to be done, is to glue a small lace flower onto her dress, fixing a topaz gemstone to the centre. That's all for now, I'm off to do some commenting and put this card on my Pinterest page, so I will say goodnight to you all. Have a good week and I'll be back soon with another decorated canvas journal.
Love and rainbows,
Hugs Jennifer xx.
