Good afternoon Followers, Friends and Visitors,
Thank you for stopping by my blog, I hope you enjoy your visit. Seeing as I was a little late with my last blog, I have decided to post this one this afternoon instead of late this evening, which I hope will make up for my lateness last time lol!
The card I would like to share with you today, was made for Sue and Harvey, my lovely friends who have the fabulous craft business - Imagination Crafts. I made this card for them, way back in July 2011, my goodness, where have all those years disappeared too lol!! doesn't time just fly by? OK, hope you like this one.
I began by making a base card from white card stock. I then took a slightly larger piece of black card and trimmed all four edges with a trimmer, using a scalloped blade. This was then fixed to the base card so no white was showing. Onto this, I matted a slightly smaller piece of pale orange card. I took some white card and trimmed it again, using the scalloped blade. I then coloured the card using the Chalkies and then with the Glitzies. The Glitzies are really beautiful as they leave a tiny amount of glitter on the card, just enough to catch your eye but not over the top lol! Unfortunately this doesn't show up on the photo but it does give a lovely subtle effect.
When the background was dry, I dabbed the stencil paints, copper, along with a touch of the gold, through
the design on the stencil, then removed the stencil and left it to dry.
When dry, I replaced the stencil onto the design and dabbed some Versamark on top of the copper and gold paint, then heat embossed using clear embossing powder.
I then removed the stencil and using a pricking tool, scored each heart leaf (except the very small ones) and rubbed some black ink into the score lines. I fastened some copper coloured fibre around the main panel, before matting onto a piece of black straight edged card. This panel was then matted onto the pale orange card. Next I glued three left-over strips of black scalloped card to the card front.
Next were the butterflies. I Stamped the butterfly three times onto some black card using a Versmark pad and heat embossed with a mixture of copper and gold embossing powders.
The butterflies were cut out, leaving a tiny black border around each, then glued to the fibres and some silicone glue was put under each wing to raise the wings up slightly to give a little dimension to the card.
Well that is that my Friends, hope you like it, it is just a little bit different. Take good care of yourselves and I'll be back soon (hopefully on time next time lol!)
Love and Rainbows,
Hugs Jennifer xx.
