Good evening Lovelies,
It's me back again with another card. This was made for Sue and Harvey of Imagination Craft's in August 2012 and uses their very pretty dragonflies and poppies stencil, silkies and vellum. Hope you like it.
Make a base card by folding a piece of red A4 card landscape style. Cut a piece of white card, slightly smaller than the red. and lay the stencil on top and using the blender tool and the 'spun sugar' distress ink, cover the card with dragonflies, (mask out the poppies, leaving only the dragonflies) . Remove the stencil.
Gently add some distress ink around the edges of the white card, using the blending tool and leave to dry.
Take a piece of plain vellum and lay the stencil onto it and run it through an embossing machine. Remove the stencil and lay the vellum, wrong side up on an embossing pad, and dry emboss using an embossing tool.
Colour the poppies and dragonflies with Imagination Craft's 'Firecracker Satin' Silky, on the reverse of the vellum. When the vellum is turned to the right side, the colour is more muted than on the reverse, which gives a subtle effect.
Trim around the design and dry emboss some dots around the edges. Fix the vellum to a piece of red card and trim around the edges, leaving a tiny border of the red showing. Fix this to the white card with the pink stencilled dragonflies on which was done earlier.
Fix some ribbon down the left hand side and secure on the reverse, using double sided sticky tape. Fix this panel onto the red base card.
Using the Spellbinders 'Ironwork Border' die, some red card and a die-cutting machine, cut out and emboss the border. Glue this to each side of the ribbon using Magi-Bond glue. Last of all, add a ribbon bow.
Well that's this card finished, I do hope you like it. Take care of yourselves until my next blog. thank you very much for visiting my blog and if you have left me a comment, 'thank you' I appreciate each and every one and I do reply to each comment.
A date for your diaries, Imagination Crafts are on Create and Craft TV on Thursday 12th February at 10am and 6pm hope you have time to watch, there will be lots of lovely demonstrations.
Love and rainbows,

This looks beautiful done on vellum Jennifer, the soft colours look fabulous with the rich red card. Carol x
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Carol, so pleased you think so. I used to do a lot of vellum work many years ago but I tend to forget about using vellum now. Must do some more, very satisfying.
