Humming Bird

Good afternoon my crafty followers, friends and visitors,

Here we are again and it's nearly the weekend.   These weeks are just flying by.   Hope you've all had a good week and are looking forward to the weekend.

Boy!  it has been really cold here today, very windy and we have had hailstones too !   The far hill is covered with snow !   I suppose the wind and showers (even if they are hailstones lol!)  is a little reassuring as it is March nearly April - March winds and April showers lol !!    Maybe the weather is back on course again lol!  Well enough about the depressing weather, I'm sure the Spring is just around the corner.    Onto today's card.   This I made using Imagination Craft's  beautiful humming bird stencil and gold shine sparkle medium.

Make a white base card.   Take a slightly smaller piece of white card  and lay the stencil on top.   Dab some Versamark through the design and remove the stencil with care.      Heat emboss using clear embossing  powder.    Punch out a 2" circle near the top of the card.   Put a piece of card covered with the gold shine sparkle medium behind the circle, for the sun.

Colour the background using distress inks.   Etch a pattern on the flowers, leaves and the humming bird with a sharp pointed tool( I used a pergammano tool) .   Rub distress inks over them so that the ink goes  into the etchings, then dry the ink off the embossing using a paper towel or tissue.   The ink should rub off the flowers etc.,  as the embossing acts as a resist.      Matt this onto the base card.

Die cut a leaf stem from white card, using a Memory box die.    Die cut a flower (a Marianne die)  from pale and deep pink paper and layer up,  then glue to the bottom left of the card.   Put a small amount of gold sparkle medium in the centre of the flower.

Well,  there we have it, another finished card.   I do hope you like it.   This is such a pretty stencil.
Enjoy your weekend everyone, take good care of yourseleves until my next post.

                                                                  Love and rainbows,

                                                                        Jennifer xx.
