At last the weekend is here again. Hope you have all had a reasonable week. We had frequent snow flurries here yesterday and it has been very windy and cold. Mustn't grumble though, at least we have no flooding. My heart goes out to all those people in the south who are flooded and have been since Christmas. Well my friends, this is my very first DT inspiration piece for The Imagination Craft's Challenge Blog. I do hope you like it and that it gives you some inspiration to join in the challenge. The theme for this month is 'love is in the air.' Valentine's Day is not far away!!!
If you would like to join us in this challenge and you have some Imagination Craft's products why not give it a go, you could win the prize of £40 to spend at Imagination Craft's A great prize, all those lovely crafty products to choose from. You can check out all the inspiration from the other DT members too, by going to this link http://imagination-craftschallenges..blogspot.com/ Well, this is my inspirational piece.
Make a base card from red card stock and onto this matt a smaller piece of gold pearly paper. Take a smaller piece of red card and lay the stencil onto it. Spread the red and gold sparkle medium over the design. Remove the stencil and leave the image to dry. When dry, wrap a piece of ribbon across the bottom half of the design, then matt this card onto the base card.
Using a die-cutting machine and the Nellie Snellen die, cut out the ovals. Punch out hearts from the red card and colour some paper with red, orange and yellow distress inks and punch out more hearts. Fix the hearts, one dark red then one lighter red, alternatively around the largest oval. Colour another smaller oval with the same distress inks. Using a Versamark pad, stamp the background stamp from the set, onto the smaller oval and heat emboss with claret embossing powder.
Glue the smaller oval to the larger oval and then fix this to the centre of the base card. Stamp the bird onto a piece of heatproof acetate and heat emboss with gold embossing powder.
Fussy cut the bird and fix to the oval using sticky foam pads. If you place them behind the gold embossing, they are not seen. Add a ribbon bow to the bottom right of the oval.
Well that's it finished, I do hope you like it and that it has encouraged you to enter The Imagination Craft's Challenge Blog, you will never win unless you enter lol !!!. We will look forward to seeing your beautiful creations.
Thank you so much for popping in today. Until next time, be happy and have a great weekend.
Love and Rainbows,
Hugs Jennifer xx.
