Hello Peeps,
Hope you all had a good weekend. I have been really busy getting my sample cards ready for Sue and Harvey of Imagination Crafts. Sue will be appearing on Create and Craft 17th and 18th of May, not sure of the times yet, will let you know as soon as I know, really exciting as she will have much longer than the usual one hour, which flies by in the blink of an eye, so lots more demonstrations and new products lol! get saving those pennies as you will be very tempted I think lol !!! My samples were posted yesterday so hopefully Sue will receive them tomorrow with any luck.
Ok, enough chit chat, let's get on with today's card. This was made for Sue and Harvey in November 2012 and uses their gorgeous butterfly border decoupage stamp set. I have to say I don't usually use such bright colours as the cerise, I tend to play safe with pastel colours but I think this one turned out ok, hope you think so too.
The base card is made from black card stock, then a smaller piece of cerise card matted onto it, with a border of black showing. Take a piece of silver card, lay the ivy leaf stencil onto it and spread the sparkle medium over it, using a metal spatula.
When dry, matt onto the cerise card, leaving a slightly larger border of the cerise showing. Cut a piece of black card approximately five and a quarter inches by two and a half inches and emboss using the dots embossable and the Grand Calibur. Fix this to the left hand side of the base card. Die cut a silver border using the Spellbinder's die and cover with sparkle medium. Fix to a piece of cerise card and when dry glue down the left of the base card, securing the ribbon across the card. Add a bow to the right.
Stamp the main image onto black card with Versamark and heat emboss with silver powder. Matt onto cerise card. Stamp the image twice more. On the first image trim away the border and glue this onto some cerise card and fix on top of the main image using sticky foam pads. On the second image, cut out one wing only, of the top butterfly and the body and the two top wings of the lower butterfly. Glue these onto cerise card and fix to the main image with silicone glue. Fix the whole image to the base card with sticky foam pads. Sorry there are no close up photos as I only took the one photo and I no longer have the card to take more. Hope you like it.
Thank you so much for all your lovely comments , they mean a great deal to me. See you again in a couple of days. Have a great time in the meanwhile.
