Good evening Followers, Friends and Visitors,
How is your weekend going so far? good I hope despite the wet dreary weather. The card I have for you tonight may help you to forget the wet weather and think of the summertime lo! I made this card for Sue and Harvey of Imagination Crafts in June 2013 and uses their beautiful Dragonflies and Poppies stencil, Gilding flakes and Glue. Hope you like it. ok let's get straight to it lol !
The base card is made from terracotta card stock. Cut a piece of white card slightly smaller than the base card and smaller on the left and right hand sides. Punch two long edges using the Martha Stewart heart punch from white card and glue to the left and right hand edges of the white card, gluing on the back of the white card. Matt this onto the terracotta card.
Take another piece of white card, again slightly smaller than the white. Colour it using distress inks. Lay the stencil on the coloured card and colour the design with distress inks. Next lay the stencil back on your card but move it slightly up a little and spread the gilding glue through the stencil. Remove the stencil and rub on the gilding flakes. Rub off the excess then gently polish with the gilding flakes brush. This gives a shadow effect.
Secure a piece of ribbon to the reverse of the card and a stamen die-cut (from white card,) then glue a bow on top.
Cut out the Memory Box heart die from white card and glue onto the gold bow and glue the bow to the ribbon on the card. Add a gold heart to the heart die-cut. Add a white butterfly to the bottom right hand corner. Add three rhinestones and add another to the centre of the bow on the heart die-cut. Fix this card to the base card.
Well that's it folks, hope you've enjoyed your visit to my blog. Thank you all so much for all your lovely comments and constant encouragement, it means a great deal to me and I do like to hear what you think of my creations. Until my next post, take care and I'll be back soon, hope you will too.
Love and rainbows,
Hugs Jennifer xx
