Hello my lovelies,
How are you all today? well I hope, if not, here's a big hug. Tonight I would like to share a card I made for Sue and Harvey of Imagination Craft in March of 2012 hopefully it will remind us of those beautiful barmy, summer days at the beach. I used Imagination Crafts beach hut stencil and sparkle medium. Hope you like it. Ok off we go, let's make a start shall we?
Begin by making a square base card from white card stock. Matt some black card onto this, leaving a tiny border of the white showing. Cut a further square from white card, approx. 1/2 " smaller than the black card. Cover this with sky blue paper.
Take some acetate and lay the stencil onto it and spread the sparkle medium through the clouds, the birds and the yacht. Remove the stencil and leave the image to dry. When dry, spread some aqua sea sparkle medium across the acetate for the sea, leave to dry. Attach the acetate to the card with the blue paper which you prepared earlier and secure the acetate at the back of the piece of card. Now, glue this to the base card.
Take another piece of white card and lay the stencil onto it and spread the sparkle medium over the beach huts, using the pastel green and the soft purple. Leave to dry. When dry, cut out, separate the first three huts from the other two and fix to the acetate with sticky foam pads, making the first three huts stand out more than the remaining two huts, making it look like some huts are behind the others.
Colour some cream card with Scattered Straw Distress Ink for the sand. Lay the stencil on it and use the gold shine sparkle medium to denote where the edge of the sand is. Put some green medium onto the tufts of grass. Remove stencil and leave to dry. Cut out along the stencil line of the sand and fix this to the beach huts using sticky foam pads.
Put the stencil onto another piece of white card and spread the black stars sparkle medium over the fence posts, remove stencil and leave to dry. Cut the posts out and glue to the sand in the correct positions as per the stencil, using Magi-Bond Glue.
Using a die-cutting machine and the Spellbinders labels one die, cut out and emboss a frame from matt silver card. Fix the silver frame over the top of the acetate, the beach huts and sand, using sticky foam pads.
Colour a small piece of white card with the scattered straw distress ink and punch out a 1/2" circle and glue in place, just under the cloud for the sun.
Well that's it folks, I don't pretend that this is a quick card to make lol!"! it does take quite a lot of time and takes quite a lot of patience but, I feel all the work and time spent is worth it ! Hope you do too.
Hope the rest of the week goes well for you all and the sun shines on you. See you all soon.
Love and rainbows,

A great card, love the beach huts and the clouds look really dimensional x
ReplyDeleteHi Jane, thank you, pleased you like it. I think the clouds look dimensional because they are on the acetate and the clouds create a shadow, quite a good effect I think.
