A Walk in the Secret Garden

Good evening Followers, Friends and Visitors,

Here we are again and it's Friday evening, the start to another weekend.   We have had a glorious day here today, wall to wall sunshine and it has been really warm.    I would like to say a big 'hello' to my newest follower Linda Page.   Thanks for following my blog and I do hope you enjoy your visits.

The card I would like to share with you tonight, was made for Sue and Harvey of Imagination Crafts.    for Create and Craft's Weekender show a weeke or so ago.   Hope you like it.

Make a base card from green card stock.   Matt a smaller piece of white onto the green card.   Take the patterneed card and lay the stencil onto it, having first masked off the four corner designs with masking tape.   Spread the sparkle mediums over the design.   This will have to be done in three stages,   the diamond for the dress,  and  antique bronze for her hair. (  For her skin, I mixed a little gold brocade silkie with some diamond sparkle medium to achieve a skin colour.)   Each time, waiting until the sparkle medium is completely dry before using the next colour, replacing the stencil onto the card each time.

When you have finished spreading the sparkle medium over the bride,   mask off the rose in each corner and replace the stencil on the card again and spread the golden pine over the four corners using a spatula.   Remove the stencil and leave to dry.   When dry, replace the stencil back on the card and mask off the corners, leaving the roses open and spread the royal purple over the roses.   Remove stencil and leave the images to dry.

Glue a butterfly to the left-hand side of the card.   There you have it, card finished.   This is really a simple
card to make but you do need quite a lot of drying time in between  each application of sparkle medium.   I tend to spread one layer and put it aside and do something else, then when it is dry, add another layer and so on.

Have a lovely relaxing weekend  everyone.   The weather is not going to be very good I think, so a crafty weekend is in order for me lol!   Enjoy whatever you choose to do.

See you all again very soon.                          Love and rainbows,

                                                                      Hugs   Jennifer xx

    1. Hello Jane, thank you very much. Glad you like it. This card did take a lot of time to make as I had to use so many different colours, which meant I had to wait for it to dry between colours. Hve a lovely weekend.
