Lilypad Blues.

Hello  Lovelies,

Just thought I'd drop by again with another card.   Hope you have all had a good start to the new week.   We had a really cold start to the day today, a very hard frost, then we had beautiful blue skies and wall to wall sunshine and the temperature rose quite quickly.   All in all, a beautiful day.   The crocuses in the garden have been fully open with the warm sunshine and looking really pretty.

Well,  onto today's card.   I made this card for Sue and Harvey of Imagination Crafts  and I used their very beautiful lily pad decoupage stamp set.   I just love this stamp, it is so pretty.   I decided to make this card in shades of blue instead of mixed colours, hope you like it.   Ok, off we go then, let's get started.

Make a base card from white card stock.   Take a piece of blue shiny card and lay the  stencil on top.   Spread the sparkle medium over the stencil using a spatula.   Scrape off the excess and return to the pot.   This sparkle medium is very economical to use, you need very little to get a  beautiful result.   Remove the stencil and when the sparkle medium is dry,  ( I tend to leave mine to dry naturally but if you have the heating on, you can put it on top of the radiator to dry)  cut the blue card to fit the white base card, leaving a small border of the white showing.

Take some white card, the square Marianne die and cut out and emboss using a die-cutting machine.   Take some white ribbon and colour it with the green distress ink.   Fix this across the centre of the blue card, securing it on the reverse of the card.   Fix this to the white base card.

Take more white card and using the black Stazon inkpad, stamp the main image a total of four times.   Colour the images with a paintbrush, water and distress inks.   Cut out the background behind the lily on one of the stamped images and glue this onto the die cut square, putting a piece of holographic card behind the aperture.   Fix the square to the centre of the base card.    Cut out the dragonflies and the lily pad and 3D them onto the original image.   Add a ribbon bow to the left hand side of the card.

Well that's it finished.   If I say so myself, I was quite pleased with the end results.   It does make a big difference having great products to work with.

Thank you all for following my blog and posting such lovely comments, they mean a great deal to me.  Hope you have a good week.   See you all in a few days.

                                                                    Love and rainbows,

                                                                  Big Hugs   Jennifer xx
