Poppies and Butterflies.

Good Saturday evening Peeps,

Sorry to be a little late with my blog, should have posted it last night but the best laid plans of mice and men, (woman in this case just did not work out lol!!)    Hope you think it is worth the wait !   The card I am sharing with you tonight, I made for Sue and Harvey of Imagination Crafts in Dec. 2012 ready for the QVC TV show in Jan 2013.   It uses one of my all time favourite stamp sets, The Decoupage Stamp Range - Poppies.   I think most people like poppies and butterflies and both are in this set.   Just so pretty.   OK off we go, let's get started shall we?

Make a base card from white card stock.   Onto this matt some blue shiny card.   Take a piece of white card, slightly smaller than the blue and using the vine trellis stencil, emboss by putting through an embossing machine.   Remove the stencil and fix this white embossed card to the blue card.

Take a piece of white card and colour using the mica powders, brush and water.   Stamp the main image onto the now coloured white card, using a Versamark pad and heat emboss using black embossing powder.

Paint the poppies with the mica powders.    Tear around the edges and fix onto a slightly larger piece of black card.   Trim around the main image leaving a tiny black border showing.   Glue this onto square of blue shiny card,  Next, on white card, stamp out two large and one small butterflies, again using a Versamark pad and heat emboss with black embossing powder.   Colour with the mica powders and fussy cut each one out.  3D these onto the main image using silicone glue.

Using a die-cutting machine, die-cut two elegant scrolls (Memorybox Die) from white card.   Paint them with the mica powders.   Glue them to the back of the blue square, leaving some scroll showing beyond the blue card,  one to the top left and the other to the bottom right.   Glue the square and the scrolls to the base card.

Well that's it my friends.   Hope you like it.  I would just like to say " thank you" for taking the time to visit my blog, I really do love to hear what you think of my creations.   Please feel free to leave a comment.   (only nice ones allowed lol!!)    I would also love it if you were to be a follower of my blog.  I love to meet new followers with the same interests as myself.  Until my next blog.  I'll try to be on time next time lol!   Hope you all have a fabulous weekend.   I'll be back soon.

                                                                  Love and rainbows,

  4. Jennifer, this is so very delicate & pretty with all the lovely details. I'm rather inexperienced with the mica powders (were these perfect pearls or some other type?) and your beautiful butterflies look like tiny jewels perched atop the delicate script background. The flowers were gorgeous. Love the torn edges of the papers too. TFS & Happy wk ahead. Hugs.

    1. Hi Mary, thank you so much for stopping by my blog, I do appreciate your visit and thank you for your interest. I really enjoyed making this card, as I love both butterflies and poppies! The mica powders are from Imagination Crafts, a company in England which I have been making samples for, for over 10 years now and I've enjoyed every minute.. Their products are fantastic and I am so lucky to be able to get to use them. They have many beautiful colours in their mica powders. There is a link to their website in my blog if you are interested to see it. Hope you have a fabulous week Mary and thanks again.
