Poppy Seed Heads.

Hi there Folks,

Just stopping by my blog with another card.    This was made as a thank you card for a dear friend in October 2012 and uses Imagination Craft's gorgeous poppy seed head stamp from their botanical stamp collection.   I just adore this stamp and always will, a very firm favourite of mine.   I'm not sure that it is still available, but you could use a similar stamp.   Well, let's get down to business, card making that is lol!

Begin by making a base card from buff couloured card, landscape style,  cutting three of the edges with a trimmer and a scalloped blade.    Then colour with black soot distress ink around the edges.

Stamp a flourish in each corner using a black ink pad.   Next, stamp the flourishes again using a Versamark pad and heat emboss with silver embossing powder, moving your stamp slightly to one side of the black stamped image, to create a shadow effect.

Cut out a scalloped black circle and glue this to the left-hand side.   Now, on a black piece of card, stamp the poppies using a Versamark pad and brush some pink and green mica powders over part of the poppies, then add some silver embossing powder and heat emboss.   Cut out the individual poppies and fix to the black circle.

Stamp the nearest poppy again and repeat, then 3d this onto the original stamped image to give a little dimension to the card.

Stamp 'Thank You' at the top and 'Best Wishes' in the bottom right corner using a black ink pad.

The next step is to punch out 2 of the large flowers  (Woodware) from shiny black card.   Rub over with a Versamark pad and colour with red and green mica powders.   Rub the Versamark pad around the edge of the petals and heat emboss with silver embossing powder.   Glue these together with Magi-bond glue.   Punch out a small flower (Martha Stewart) from black shiny card and glue to the large flower centre.   Glue some sequins and black beads to the flower centre.

Fix this to the card with glue and use silicone glue under the petals to lift them up a little, again to add some dimension to the card.

Rub some Versamark around the card, over the flourishes and brush with nica powder.    There you have it, finished except for the insert.   I do hope you like it.   I adore poppies, as do most  people I think.   Thank you to all of you who took the time to visit and leave me a comment on my last blog.    I appreciate each and every one.

See you soon with another creation,   Take care of yourselves until then.

                                                                   Love and rainbows,

                                                                Crafty Hugs   Jennifer xx.
