'Dazzling Dragonfly.'

Hello Everyone,

Thank you all so much for your comments and visits to my last blog post, really appreciate each and every one.

Thought I would share another of my cards made using Imagination Craft's gorgeous 'Destiny' Collection, another beautiful set of  stamps, stencils, rice papers and dies.    For this card I have used some rice paper and  one of the stencils from the collection.   The other products I have used are  Sparkle Medium, Black Gesso,  Decoupage glue, Cadence Shake & Gilt and Mixed Media green shimmer spray.

e

Cut a five and three quarter inch square from white card.   From this, die cut a four and three quarter inch diameter circle, using a circle die.

Using decoupage glue, fix a piece of the rice paper over the piece of card.   When dry, turn the card over and using a craft knife,  carefully  cut away the rice paper from the aperture, keeping this for a future project.   Waste not want not lol!

Take a six inch square of smooth white card and spray with the Cadence green shimmer spray ink and then, using a flat  paintbrush, paint down the card  creating a striped effect,  add a quick spray of the copper Shake & Gilt.   Matt this onto a slightly larger square of black card, then matt this onto a 7"x7" white base card.

Colour around the inside edge of the aperture with spiced marmalade Distress Oxide using a blending tool, to cover the white edge of the cut circle.

Die-cut a group of stars using the die from the collection, from the top right-hand corner  of the card with the aperture.

Glue this onto the green matt and then onto the white base card.

Die-cut three circles from white card and glue them inside the aperture.

Lay the open dragonfly image from the stencil onto a piece of white card and stipple  black Gesso through the design.  using a stencil brush.

When dry, lay the 'patterned'  dragonfly on top of the black dragonfly and using a metal spatula, spread the emerald green, copper and gold Sparkle Mediums over the design.   Do this twice, making
two finished dragonflies.

Cut the head and wings only from the second dragonfly and 3D them onto the first using silicone glue.    Apologies for the photo below as the light was not good when I took this.

When dry, glue the dragonfly to the centre of the circle.   Colour a piece of white card with the gold Sparkle Medium and leave to dry.   From this, die-cut 19 stars using the group of stars die.   Glue the stars around the white circles and one in each corner of the base card, adding one large and 3 smaller stars to the die-cut corner, leaving 4 of the stars 'empty,' with the green shimmer ink showing through the die-cut.

That's all from me for the moment.    I'm busy working on the next fabulous collection from Imagination Crafts.....I just know you are going to love this one too!    I'm having so much fun playing with it.   Take good care of yourselves, stay safe and well and stay home, we all need to look after each other at this time and of course, grateful thanks go the  the wonderful work all of the key workers are doing.    Catch you all again quite soon.
