'Empress of the Sea.'

Good afternoon  Lovelies,

I do hope you are all fit and well and coping with this challenging time we are in at the moment.   Thank you for your comments and visits to my last blog post, which are very much appreciated.   I  hope you managed to tune in to see Mandy launch Imagination Craft's fabulous new 'Atlantis' Collection this morning at 9am. what a great show, Mandy's canvas was beautiful and the samples were amazing.    .  There is another show due to begin at 6.45pm. this evening,     I would like to share one of my cards with you.   Hope you like it.    Although I was in my craft room making this card, my mind was  in this magical kingdom of 'Atlantis' lol!  so enjoyed working with this collection   Please bear with me as there are quite a lot of photos but not much reading involved lol!  I do like to show as many stages as possible.

Begin by matting a square of turquoise paper or card onto a 7"x7" white base card.   Cut a piece of white card approximately six and a quarter inches square.   Lay the Greek Key border from the Azure stencil down the right-hand edge of this piece of white card.   Stipple the Cadence Dora blue metallic paint through the design, using a stencil brush.

Take a portion of the rice paper you wish to use, cutting the top, left-hand side and the bottom straight cut and feathering the right-hand edge only.   Fix this to the square of white card with the Greek Key pattern down the right-hand edge, using some Cadence decoupage glue.

Die-cut the Sea Empress from white card, using the die from the collection.   Paint her with the purple marble effect paint, adding small amounts of Ultramarine Acrylic paint, then the Dora Metallic paints - green and silver.

Ink up the Empress stamp with a Versamark pad and press the die-cut, face down onto the stamp.

Remove the die-cut and add some black embossing powder over the image, remove the excess powder and heat emboss, using a heat tool

Add touches of Turquoise Sparkle and Twinkle to her hair, body and tail   Fix the rice paper covered card to the base card.    Glue the Sea Empress to the card using silicone glue.

Using the Just Pearls - Pearl,  add a pearl drop to the top right and bottom right corners and leave to dry.   Die-cut the key on a chain from white card, using the die from the collection.   Paint it with the silver metallic paint, adding touches here and there with some green paint.   When dry, glue this to the top right corner, as if it were 'hanging' from the pearl drop.

Die-cut the broken column from white card and paint with the gold marble effect paint, adding touches of the green Moss Effect paints.   When dry, rub over lightly with some black ink to dull down the gold paint a little.   Fix this to the bottom left corner with silicone glue.

Take some small pieces of light blue, lavender and white card and paint with the Cadence Pearl metallic paint.   When dry, stamp out 6 various shell shapes from them, using the stamps from the Atlantis stamp set and black ink, then  cut them out.

Add some dots of white structure paste along the base of the design and press on some small Artsy Stones.   When dry paint these with the gold Marble Effect paint.

Glue the shells to the Artsy Stones along the base of the design.

On finishing this card, I looked at it and felt that something else was needed, as the card did not looked balanced somehow so, I decided to add some silver fish using the stencil from the set.   This really would have been better done at an earlier stage lol! but was a last minute decision but balances up the design.

Well that's all from me for the moment.  Please pop back again soon, as I will be sharing another card made using this fabulous collection.   Take good care of yourselves, stay safe and well.   Catch you all again soon.    Please don't forget to tune in to Create & Craft tonight at 6.45pm.

                                                                 Love and rainbows,

                                                                  Hugs   Jennifer xx.
