'A Ride Through The Lavender Fields.'

Hi Lovelies,

Wishing you all   'A Very Happy New Year,'   hoping you all enjoyed the festivities.   As always, thank you so much for all your visits and lovely comments on my last blog post, they are very much appreciated.     Today's card has been made using Imagination Craft's gorgeous 'Lavender Chic' collection, such pretty rice papers and two fabulous A4 stencils.   I have also used some Cadence finger waxes,  metallic paints, Shabby Chic  Relief Pastes, Decoupage Plus Glue and a 'woodgrainer' which gives some great effects.   This card will hopefully remind us that the Spring/ Summer is not that far away !

Take a piece of white card seven and a quarter inches square and paint the outer edges of the card only, with the Dora 'amethyst' metallic paint.

Next cut a piece of white card 7"x7".   Cut out the part of the design you want for the background from the rice paper, cutting it slightly larger than the 7" square of card.   Fix the rice paper to the 7"square, using the Cadence Decoupage Plus glue, bending the excess paper to the back of the card and securing with the glue.

When this is dry, lay the stem of lavender from the 'simply lavender' stencil, onto the right-hand side of the rice paper background and secure it to the background and worktop, using the blue low tack tape.   Using a metal spatula, spread the lavender relief paste over the flower heads only.

Remove the stencil and leave the image to dry.   Next place the stencil back in position over the flower
heads, tape off the flower heads with the blue tape, then spread the sage relief paste over the  leaves and stems using the metal spatula

When dry, relay the stencil back over the lavender flowers and secure it once again with tape and using a stencil brush, stipple some amethyst metallic paint through the stencil onto each flower and some green metallic paint on the stem and leaves.  Remove the stencil.

Matt the piece of card with the amethyst painted edges onto an 8"x8" white base card.   Layer the background card onto the amethyst edged card.

Cut or die-cut a two and a quarter inch circle from white card, plus a slightly larger white circle.   Cover the two and a quarter inch circle with the lavender relief paste, using the metal spatula and whilst it is still wet, make a pattern across the paste with the wood grainer tool.

When this has dried, add some purple finger wax around the edges of the circle and some bronze finger wax to the centre of the circle.

Glue this circle onto the slightly larger white circle, then onto the rice paper background on the 8"x8" white base card.

From the second sheet of the same design rice paper, roughly cut out the large bee and glue it to a piece of white card, using the decoupage glue.

Cut out the bee, cutting away any excess white card and colour the bee with some watered down bronze finger wax.   Glue the bee to the patterned circle on the base card.

Below are a couple of photos taken at an angle to show the dimension of the card.

Thank you for stopping by my blog, hope you've enjoyed your visit.   If you can, please tune in to see the launch of this beautiful  collection on the Create & Craft T.V. channel on Tuesday 4th January 2022 at 12 noon.      I will be back again soon with another card made using this collection.   Take care of yourselves and stay safe.
