Love leaves and Hearts

Hi all,

Hope you are all having a lovely weekend.   I haven't managed to fit in much crafting time these last few days, as our wonderful Grandson has been staying with us since Thursday and he will be with us until he goes back to school on Monday, after the school holiday.   We spent this afternoon writing his birthday invitations for his little school friends.    The rest of the time seems to be spent making meals, he's always hungry lolls !!   He is such good company and we love him dearly.   The card I would like to share with you today, I made for Sue and Harvey of Imagination Craft's in  September 2011 and it uses their heart leaf stencil, which I think is so pretty.

Make a base card fom pink cardstock, landscape style.   Cut out a piece of dark green paper and before matting onto the pink card,  die cut the small green tag and thread a narrow pink ribbon through it and secure onto the back of the green paper.   Matt this onto the pink card.

Using the heart punch, punch out  two pink and two green heart edges.   Layer these up together and glue to the right- hand side of the base card.   Using the set of dies and some green paper. cut out three oblongs.   Next cut out three oblongs from pink card.   Keep the pink negative from the large die cut and fix this on an angle, to the left-hand edge of the base card.   Glue the other pink die cuts to the back of the three green ones but leave a tiny border of pink showing down one edge and across the top.

Take the white card, the stencil and the stencil paste and lay the stencil on the card and using the spatula, draw the stencil paste down over the stencil.   Carefully remove the stencil and wash it straight away or the paste will set on it.

When dry colour the background and parts of the stencil paste with the inkpads, leave to dry.   Take the 'spotty' stamp and using the Brilliance Pearlescent Jade ink pad, stamp the spots onto the larger of the heart leaves and heat emboss with clear embossing powder.

Cut out four shapes from the stencilled image of the heart leaves, to fit each of the oblongs and the tag,   then glue onto the oblong die-cuts.   Fix these on an angle using double sided sticky foam pads.   Glue some hearts, left over from the punched edges, onto the green background.   Add a pink bow to the left-hand edge of the card.

There we are, that's it finished.   This card does take a little more time to do but I think the time spent is worth it.   I hope you think so too.   Take care of yourselves until I blog again and thank you for popping by my blog..

                                                                  Love and Rainbows,

                                                                     Hugs Jennifer xx.
