MDF Snowflake Decorations.

Good evening Lovelies, hope you've enjoyed your Saturday.   It has been so cold here today.   The snow that fell last night was really icy and crunchy under foot,  it hasn't melted at all.   At least there has not been anymore snow today.   I went out to our local craft fair today.   Lots of lovely items made by some very talented people.    Tonight, as promised I am featuring a couple of my MDF snowflake decorations.   These snowflakes are so quick and easy to decorate.   Sue from Imagination Craft's had then on the Hochanda T.V. show today and very popular they were too!     My snowflakes were not on the shows today as I did not get them finished in time, so I am showing them on here instead lol.   I decided  to undercoat them with chalk white MDF paint first.

I then  dabbed some stencil medium over it using a metal spatula, which lifts the medium up into little peaks, which looks like snow.   When it was dry, I rubbed silver Sparkle Medium over it and left it to dry

I then painted some white card using the blue Starlight paint and when dry, I die-cut the poinsettia, using the Marianne Design die.   I rubbed a little silver Alchemey wax over the raised veins on the petals.   I glued one flower on top of the other, then glued the stamen to the flower centre.    I then then glued to the snowflake.     This was repeated, with another die-cut flower and was glued back to back with the other flower.   This meant that the snowflake would look good from both sides.

That is this one finished.   Here is my second MDF snowflake, this is different to the above decoration, although I have used the fabulously smooth Starlight paints.    Again, I undercoated the snowflake with MDF chalk white paint.   This is not absolutely necessary but  old habits die hard lol !!

I then used Dark Orchid, Blue, Cyclamen and Antique Gold Starlight paints and painted the snowflake as above.   I glued six pink heart gemstones to the centre of the snowflake, using Magi-bond glue.

Well that's all from me for tonight my friends, I will be back again soon with another creation.   Many thanks for stopping by my blog and if you have left me a comment, thank you again, I do love to hear what you think of my creations.

Have a peaceful, relaxed Sunday.

                                                               Love and rainbows,

                                                                Hugs    Jennifer xx.
