Encaustic Art Snow Queen.

Hello there my lovely Friends,  Followers and Visitors,

Another weekend is here, goodness me,  they do seem to come around very quickly lol!  wish they would slow down a little ha! ha!  could do with a little extra time lol!

Thank you so much for your comments and visits to my last blog post.   I do hope you enjoyed your visit and that you may have been inspired  to have a go at this  relaxing and creative hobby.
I would like to share another of my sample cards, made for the  'Sue Baker Presents'  shows on the Create & Craft T.V. Channel in July 2019.   This card is made using the stamps from the gorgeous 'Snow Queen Collection.'   I have also used the Encaustic Art technique, using wax and a hot iron for the background.

Take a piece of smooth, shiny card approximately  four inches by five and three quarters inches.   Add some blue, white and silver waxes to an up-turned warm encaustic iron and run the iron over the card from left to right, until you are happy with the results.   If you work the waxes too much, the colours just turn muddy.

In this case I was wanting the wax background to look like ice.

Stamp the Snow Queen image onto the wax using a grey Stazon ink pad rather than black, as a more subtle effect is wanted.

Colour a small piece of acetate with the Stream, Denim and Cranberry Alcohol Inks, plus a little blending solution, using  a blending tool.

Cut 4 triangular pieces from this and glue one in each corner of the waxed card.

Matt this onto a slightly larger piece of metallic grey card.

Using the grey Stazon ink pad, stamp the crystal ball only,  onto the coloured  acetate   Cut this out and glue onto the original stamped crystal ball on the waxed card, stamped side up.

Using a black inkpad, stamp the sentiment in the bottom left corner of the white base card.

Matt the waxed image onto the right-hand side of the white base card.

Glue three lavender gems to the top left and  3 gems to the bottom right corners of the base card.

Stamp the large butterfly onto some spare white card, using a black inkpad.   Colour it with some Amethyst and Hibiscus Starlight Paints (watered down).

Trim around the butterfly and fix to the left of the base card using silicone glue under each wing, to add some dimension to the card.

Well that's all my friends, hope you like tonight's card.   I first tried Encaustic Art many years ago, had lots of fun using this technique, then the waxes and iron were put away and forgotten about for many years!   Whilst tidying up in my craft room, I came across them and thought I would incorporate a waxed background for this card, something a little different lol!

Thanks for stopping by my blog, I hope you enjoy your visit.   Take good care of yourselves and I will be back with yet another card, made using this beautiful Snow Queen Collection by Sue Baker Presents.    I have to say, I could go on and on making cards with this collection!

                                                                Love and rainbows,

Happy Crafting and big hugs,  catch you all again soon.

Sunrise.

Hi there Lovelies,

Happy Saturday, hope everyone is enjoying their weekend so far.   The weather is beautiful here today, warm and sunny, hope it is where you are too.   Thank you for your comments and visits on my last blog post, most kind of you.

Today I would like to share another sample I made for the Sue Baker Presents shows on the Create & Craft T.V. shows, on 22nd./23rd. July 2019,  using the gorgeous Snow Queen Collection.   I just love this collection, the snow queen is just so beautiful.   The designs are stunning.    As in my previous blogs, please bear with me as there are quite a few photos but not that much to read lol!

Working on the front of the 7" x 7" white base card, stamp the corner flourish in each corner, using a black inkpad.

Cut a piece of  black card about half an inch smaller than the base card and fix it onto the base card.

Take  another piece of black card, about a quarter of an inch smaller than the black card and lay the sunrise stencil on  top and using a large stencil brush, stipple the antique gold Starlight paint through the design, adding some rich gold paint from the centre, working up the rays and blending in with the antique gold.

When dry, stamp the small flourish in each ray of the sun using a black inkpad.

Stamp the Snow Queen on the Polar bear in the centre, again  using a black inkpad

I have done this as a guide for when I come to place the 3D decoupage of the Queen and bear onto this card,  plus any fine lines on the stamped image which could not be cut out, ie; her wisps of hair flying in the wind.     Glue a clear  gemstone on each black section of the sunrise, except for the two bottom ones, as they will eventually be covered by the 3D decoupage.   Fix this to the base card.

Stamp the main image of the Snow Queen and the Polar bear four times onto some spare white card, using a black inkpad.   Colour her cloak with  Promarker pens bluebell and orchid,  her face with blush and  her dress with the  rich gold Starlight paint.

Fussy cut each piece and 3D them using silicone glue

When the glue has set, matt this onto the base card on top of the original stamped image.   Card is now finished.

This card does take a little more time to make but I think,  that extra time is worth it, I hope you do too.  That's all from me for the moment, enjoy the rest of your weekend and I will be back again soon with another card, made using this fabulous collection.   Happy crafting.

                                                                    Love and rainbows,

                                                                      Hugs   Jennifer xx.

In the Pink Snow Queen.

Hello Lovelies,

I'm back again!   Another weekend is here lol!  yeah!  maybe you have  an exciting weekend planned or, you may be having a quiet one, whichever  it is, I do hope you have a good one.

Thank you for your visits and comments on my last blog post, each and everyone is really appreciated.   Tonight I have another card which I made for the Sue Baker Presents shows on the Create & Craft  T.V. Channel on the 22nd/23rd. July 2019.   I have used the large snowflake and word stamps from the wonderful Snow Queen Collection plus the gorgeous Snow Queen image, I just adore her, she is so  beautiful.   Hope you like this one.   Bear with me once again, there are quite a few photos but not much reading to do lol!

Take a square of white card, just slightly smaller than the 7" x 7" white base card.   Using a pencil, draw a line from the top left to the bottom right corner and a line from the top right to the bottom left, as a guide (which can be rubbed out later.)

Put this in your stamping platform if you have one and stamp the large snowflake from the set, in the centre, using the Amethyst pigment pad and heat emboss with clear embossing powder.

Continue in the same manner, joining up the snowflakes until you have 9 images.   Using the same stamp, add a part snowflake to each corner.   Heat emboss all snowflakes with the clear embossing powder.

Stamp the words Beautiful, Sparkle, Magical and Snow around the edges using a gold pigment pad and heat emboss them using gold embossing powder.

Colour the edges of this card with the seedless preserves distress ink and a blending tool.

Glue a gemstone in the centre of each snowflake (except the one in the centre, as this one will be covered up by the topper later).

Take a piece of white linen effect card and stamp the head of the Snow Queen in her hood, with the gold pigment pad and heat emboss  using the gold embossing powder....Die cut a circle around her head using a 2" circle die.

Colour around the edges of this circle with the seedless preserves distress ink and a blending tool.   Put a little of the distress ink  onto a work surface, add a little water and paint the image ie., her hair, lips etc.,

Highlight her hair, lips and eyes using a white gel pen.   Matt this onto a slightly larger circle of white card.
                                                     .
Then fix this to the centre of the snowflakes, using sticky foam pads or silicone glue.

Matt and layer this onto the base card and the card is finished.

The gold embossing on her face and the words unfortunately do not show up very well on these photos, sorry about that,  I'm not the world's best photographer lol!  but learning all the time ha ha!

Take care of yourselves and have a wonderful weekend, I think the weather has to cheer up a little and we may, if we're lucky, see some sunshine lol!

                                                                Love and rainbows,

                                                       Happy Crafting,  Hugs  Jennifer xx.

'Frozen Beauty.'

Hi there Lovelies,

How are you all, hope the answer to that question is very well.  Thank you so much for all your visits and comments on my last blog post, I love to hear what you think of my projects, good or bad lol!  hopefully more good than bad lol!.

I thought I would share another of my sample cards which I made for the lovely Sue Baker Presents shows on the Create & Craft T.V. Channel on 22nd,/23rd. July 2019.   These gorgeous stamps are from the 'Snow Queen Collection.'    They are just stunning, hope you like what I have done with them.    Please bear with me as there are quite a few photos but not too much reading you'll be pleased to hear lol!

Matt and layer a black square onto the 7"x7" white base card, leaving a quarter inch of the white base card showing.    Next matt a smaller square of blue card onto the black.

Take some white linen effect card and cut  to  approximately five & three quarter inches square.   Stamp the facial features in the centre of the white card using a black ink pad.

Stamp the icicles in the top left and bottom right corners.   Stamp the word 'Snow' to the centre top, 'Ice' to the centre right and 'Frosty' to the bottom left corner.

Dab some stormy sky Distress ink onto a work mat and add a spray or two of water, then using a paint brush, paint the icicles, her lips,  eyes  and eyebrow with it.

Add little dabs of diamond glitter paste to the right eyebrow, icicles, eyes, lips and the centres of the snowflakes.   Unfortunately the photos don't show up the pretty sparkles, they really do sparkle when the light catches them.

Punch out 3 large, 2 medium and 2 small flowers from blue coloured card, using the Woodware punches.

Add some small touches of the diamond glitter paste to the petals.   Make up 3 different flowers using the punched shapes ie., 1 large + 1 small,  -    1 large + 1 medium + 1 small   -   and  1 large + 1 medium.

Glue these to the face.   Glue a blue gem stone to the centre of each flower.

Glue some blue gems in the top right corner and three below the word 'Frosty.'

Matt this onto a piece of black card with only a tiny border of the black showing, then matt this onto
the base card.

That's all from me for the moment.   Thanks for sticking with me to the end of this post lol!   Catch you all again very soon.    Enjoy the rest of your week and Happy Crafting.

                                                               Love and rainbows,

                                                                Hugs   Jennifer xx.
