Hi there Lovelies,
I'm back once again with another card made using the gorgeous 'Beautiful Blooms' collection, which was shown on the Create and Craft T.V. Channel recently, such beautiful rice papers.
Matt a seven and a quarter inch square of dark brown card onto an eight inch white base card. Cut a seven inch square of white card.
Using the rice paper with the two birds on a blossom branch, cut out slightly larger than you need, then feather inside edges of the rice paper design, cutting it into two pieces, which will fit the top right and bottom left corners of the seven inch square, leaving a gap between the two pieces but do not stick the corner pieces onto the card yet.
Using the Cadence Style Matt lavender blue paint, paint the section of card between where the two pieces of rice paper will be when fixed to the card.
Fix the two corner pieces of the rice paper in position, using the decoupage glue, bending the outer edges of the rice paper to the back of the card and securing with the decoupage glue.
Lay the 'flower' design from the 'Grunge' stencil onto the blue painted area, masking off all but the flower head, using Imagination's blue low tack masking tape, putting the first flower head in the centre of the blue area. Spread the Shabby Chic 'sage' relief paste through the design using a metal spatula and remove the stencil and clean it. Leave image to dry.
Lay the flower head design to the right of the centre flower and spread the relief paste through the design. Remove the stencil and leave image to dry.
Repeat this to the left of the centre flower. When this is dry, matt and layer this background card onto the brown matt on the 8"x8" white base card. Re-position the stencil on top of the relief paste and using a stencil brush, stipple some Cadence Dora 'Cyclamen' Metallic paint on top of the design.
From the second sheet of rice paper of the same design, roughly cut out the nearest bird (except for the tail feathers, which are behind the branch), plus the flower blossoms. Fix these to a spare piece of white card, using the decoupage glue.
When dry, trim around the images, cutting away any excess white card.
3D these images onto the original images on the background rice paper using silicone glue.
Lastly add a pink/white gingham ribbon bow to the top right corner
The photo below is taken at an angle to show the dimension of the branch, flowers and the birds.
