Hi again Lovelies,
A much better day here, the sun was actually shinning ! a very pleasant Autumnal day. Hoping all is well with you. Thank you once again for all your visits and comments on my last blog post.
Today I have another card, made using Imagination Craft's 'Flowermania' collection. This time the animal is a wonderful tiger. I have used rice papers and the 'Peacock Flair' A4 Stencil from the collection. I have also used the Cadence Dora 'Zinober Gold' Metallic Paint. I love this particular paint, the colour is fabulous and when the light or the sun catches it, it just gleams all shimmery - love it and I feel it is just right for this design. O.K time to begin making the card below.
Matt and layer a piece of black card onto an 8"x8" white base card, leaving a small border of the white card showing.
Cut a square of white card 7" x 7" and glue the rice paper (cutting the rice paper slightly larger than 7" square), fix the rice paper to the piece of card, using the Cadence Decoupage Plus Glue, bending the excess paper to the back of the piece of card and securing with the glue. (This gives a neater edge to the card).
Die-cut a 4" circle from black card. Using part of one of the square border designs from the stencil and using the Imagination Craft's blue Mixed Media Tape, mask off all but the three petals. Using a stencil brush, stipple the Zinober Gold metallic paint through the 3 petals and do this 5 times around the left-hand edge of the black circle.
Remove the stencil and when image is dry, (which won't take long, as this paint dries very quickly), add a little of the paint around the edge of the circle with your finger as I did, or with the remains of the paint on the stencil brush. Glue this circle to the centre of the background card.
Using some black card and the Zinober Gold paint, stipple it through part of the design from one of the border squares on the stencil, onto the black card, using the stencil brush. Do this twice.
The photo below shows the shimmer of the Zinober Gold paint when the light catches it. How gorgeous is that ? I love it
Cut these designs into 2 squares measuring approximately one and a quarter inches square.
Next cut a 1 inch strip of black card, 7" long and stipple the paint through the top half of one of the squares from the stencil, three times, matching up the design each time. Put to one side for the moment.
From the second sheet of the same design rice paper, roughly cut out the tiger and glue it to a piece of white card, using the decoupage glue. When dry, trim around the tiger, cutting away any excess white card, then glue it to the top of the base card, (matching up the tip of the tail on the original image), using silicone glue.
Glue the 2 small black squares to the top left and right-hand corners of the base card and the strip to the bottom of the card.
Well that's all from me for the time being but please pop back as I will be posting more cards soon. I do hope you have enjoyed your visit. Happy Crafting All.
Love and Rainbows,
Hugs Jennifer xx.
