Good evening All,
Well, here we are again, another week behind us lol! where does the time go? I hope you enjoy your weekend whatever you have planned, we have a quiet couple of days ahead.
I was asked by a friend to make some cards for her MacMillan nurses coffee morning and, as I have already posted them off to her, I don't think she will mind if I share them with you. Hopefully she will have already received them by now.
Tonight's card was made using a Stampendous poinsettia stamp. I have coloured the background with distress inks and the poinsettia with the beautiful sparkly Starlight paint from
Imagination Crafts.
Colour the front of a white scalloped 6" x 6" card using the red and green distress inks, using a blending tool or, a piece of cut 'n' dry foam.
Die-cut a large oval using the Spellbinder's scalloped oval die. Colour this in the same way as you did for the front. Give your oval a quick blast with your heat gun to make sure it is completely dry, or the embossing powder which we are going to use next, will stick where you don't want it too lol!!! Using a Versamark pad, stamp the poinsettia onto the oval, then heat emboss with black embossing powder. Colour with distress inks and water, then leave to dry.
Using a wet paintbrush, go over the pieces of mistletoe, which will bring the ink back to life, so to speak, then using a piece of kitchen paper, dab over the mistletoe. This should remove some of the distress ink, thus making the mistletoe lighter in colour.
Colour some card with the red Starlight paint and die - cut the poinsettia from it. Take the die - cuts and stamp the poinsettia onto them, using a Versamark pad and heat emboss with black powder.
Stamp 'Happy Christmas' in the top left corner and the scroll stamp in the borttom left of the base card, using a black ink pad.
Glue the oval to the base card using sticky foam pads, to just 'lift' it off the card a little.
3D the poinsettia and glue to the original stamped image on the oval, Add some dots of Platinum' liquid pearls to the mistletoe berries.
Stamp the scroll stamp in the bottom left corner of the base card, using black ink.
Well the card is now finished, I hope you like it.
On my last post I used a Rollagraph holder and stamp to help make the background and one of my followers Kate, has asked me what a Rollagraph is, so I thought I would show you couple of photos of my Rollagraphs. I think these are still available, mine are a few years old now but still going strong! The stamp can be inked by rolling it over an ink pad, or, if you want a long continuous line, an ink cartridge can be used. They come in 2" and 1" hiolders and a 2" and 1" rubber stamps which click into the holders. There are a number of different designs of stamps. The one I used on my previous blog was called ;Zephyr.'
Rollagraph holders with stamps.
Rubber stamps fixed into the holders.
Rollagraph stamps ready to be used, just need to be inked up.
Ink cartridges can be fixed to the holders so no need to stop and re ink. Hope this helps Kate.
I will be back very soon with another card. In the meanwhile, have a fantastic weekend.
Love and rainbows, xx
Hugs Jennifer xx.
