Happy Monday, hope this is a good week for everyone The weather I think, is set to become a little warmer but we will be turning the clocks back one hour this coming weekend, darker nights lol!
Today I am sharing a sample card I made for the Sue Baker Presents shows on Tuesday 22nd. October on the Create & Craft T.V. Channel. Sue will be launching her stunning 'Dark Angel' collection. This is an amazing collection, just loved working with it. I have also used the fabulous Cadence metallic paints, such gorgeous colours. Please bear with me to the end, as there are quite a few photos showing the different stages . (Not too much reading to do lol!) Well.....on with the card in question lol! and here is the finished card.
Take a 6 inch square of black card and cut out a five and a half inch diameter circle from the centre, using a Fiskar's circle cutter or a die of the same size, (I used the circle cutter as I don't have a die that size.)
Next take some white card and stamp the main image onto it, (I used my stamping platform for this as it is quite a large stamp or you could use a large acrylic block) using a black ink pad.
Colour the image using watered down distress inks - Tattered Rose for her skin and Vintage Photo for her hair. Colour her eyes with the Cadence Light Sage Acrylic paint. Colour her hat, neck band and wings with the Acrylic and metallic paints, adding some well watered down Brilliant Gold paint to her hair as highlights.
Stamp the main image again using the black ink pad. From this cut out her hat, neckband and her wings. Colour these the same as the original images.
Next stamp the wings again but this time not the top half of the wings, then colour as previously and cut them out.
Next stamp the bottom section of each wing again, colour and cut out, then again but missing off the striped section.
Lastly stamp the two large cog wheels, colour with the brilliant gold and cut out. the cog wheels.
3D the wings using silicone glue, adding the two cog wheels last.
Add some brilliant gold paint to each screw head using a cocktail stick.
Matt the black card with the aperture over the original stamped image. and then onto the 7" x 7" white base card. This will partially cover the tips of her wings but not to worry as we will be adding the 3D wings on top of the black card.
Glue the 3D wings in position over the original images.
Take her hat and gently shape it with your fingers then glue in position with silicone glue, Next glue her neckband in position, again using silicone glue, she is coming along nicely now lol!
Die-cut and shape the buckle then glue it to the bottom right of the base card with silicone glue.
Hope you are all still with me lol! there are quite a lot of stages to this card, so bear with me for a little longer lol! Using the leaf dies from the collection, die-cut 2 of the 3 leaf die from white card which has been painted with the light sage paint. Glue these to the top left of the base card.
Using the large and small cog wheel flowers, die-cut one of each from white card and paint with the Cadence ultramarine acrylic paint, adding a touch of the brilliant gold metallic paint to the edges of each cog. Glue the small flower to the large flower. Die-cut 1 large stamen and one small, plus the smaller of the two centres. Paint these with the brilliant gold. Glue the centre to the cog flower, then the large, then the small stamen to the centre.
Fix this flower to the top left of the base card, on top of the leaves. Nearly there folks lol! stay with me ha ha! and breathe lol! the card is now finished! Oops lol! forgot to say to add some tiny dots of gold paint onto the chain on her hat, I used a cocktail stick for that.
Well phew! if you are still with me, thank you so much for staying the course lol! Hope you like it. Please don't forget to tune in to Create & Craft T.V on Tuesday 22nd. Oct. at 11am. and again at 8pm. then on Weds. 23rd. Oct. at 4pm. to see the lovely Sue Baker launch this fabulous Collection. Take care of yourselves and I'll be back again soon with another project, made with this collection. Thank you so much for stopping by my blog.
