How are you all, well I hope. Thank you as always, for stopping by my last blog post and for the lovely comments and visits, I do love to hear from you.
I thought I would share a canvas with you this time. This was made using the brilliant Dark Angel' Collection, from Sue Baker Presents.. This is a steampunk collection, which I have to admit wasn't up my street when I first set eyes on it lol! but once I got to use it, I couldn't stop using it and I now love it! For this canvas I decided not to use the usual colours for steampunk ie; copper, brown, black, silver etc,, and use some much brighter colours........giving a different look to the canvas. I was very pleased with the way it turned out lol! Hope you like it too, I would love to hear what you think. Anyway, I thoroughly enjoyed creating this canvas. Hope you like it too. Please bear with me as this canvas has lots of different stages to it, therefore lots of photos lol!
Mask off sections using the masking tape and paint in between, using a mixture of white Gesso with the Bordeaux acrylic paint.
Another mixture of the white and ultramarine blue.
And finally, another with the light sage and white Gesso. Remove the tape and leave to dry.
When dry, mask off the painted sections and paint in between with black Gesso. Remove tape and leave to dry.
Add the words - 'Beautiful' 'Be Bold' 'Be Brave' Be You' by spreading the white Structure Paste through the words using the stencil. Remove the stencil and wash it and leave the paste to dry.
When dry, spread the structure paste onto the background, through the large wing and the broken dots on the stencil, using the spatula. Remove the stencil and leave the images to dry.
Lay the stencil back in position over the words and using the brilliant gold metallic paint, dab the gold on top of the words using a stencil brush. Remove stencil.
Stamp the steampunk lady onto a piece of white card using a black ink pad. Cut out her head, hat, neck and shoulders and colour with watered down Victorian velvet distress ink for her skin and the Vintage photo for her hair.
The watered down Bordeaux for her hat, cheeks and lips. Watered down ultramarine for the band around her hat and neck. Light sage for her eyes, gold for the cogs on her hat.
Glue her to the upper half of the canvas using silicone glue
.
Using the flower cog dies from the collection and white card, die-cut one large and 4 small flower cogs, 3 small stamen and one large. From black card die-cut 3 small centres and 1 large. Paint 1 large and 2 small flower with the green/blue and 2 with the blue/rose Duo paints.
Using the negatives after die-cutting the cog flowers, using these as you would a stencil, lay them onto some white card and dab the brilliant gold paint through them, making 1 large and 2 small flowers. Cut these out, 3D these flowers using the coloured cog flowers, keeping 1 pink and 1 small blue flowers, then glue the blue on top of the pink, so you have a total of 3 small flowers and 1 large. Glue the black centres onto each flower and then the gold stamen. Glue these to the wing using silicone glue.
Colour some white card with the green peridot finger wax. From this, die-cut some small leaves and glue in position between the flowers.
Die-cut the buckle and paint it blue and gold, then glue it to the bottom right of the canvas, using silicone glue.
The photos below show the dimensions on the canvas
Phew! that is everything I think lol! hope you're still with me! if you are, 10 out of 10 - you're a star lol! Hope you thought it was worth it lol! Thanks again, Have a brilliant weekend when it arrives and I will be back again soon.
