'Caring.'

Good afternoon Lovelies,

and a beautiful one it is here.   Sun is shinning, blue skies and fluffy white clouds.  Thank you all for your comments and visits on my last blog post.   I do hope you were able to tune in to the Create & Craft T.V. Channel this lunchtime, to see out Mandy launch Imagination Craft's latest collection - 'Vintage Beauty' and some great Cadence products too.   I thought I would share one of my sample cards made for the show.   I do know, many of you, like myself, love anything with butterflies on and as soon as I saw this particular rice paper from the collection,  I knew I just had to make a card with it, so I do hope you like it too.

Using a paintbrush and clean water, paint around the section of the rice paper you want, then feather the edges by gently pulling the outer edges of your chosen piece away.

Using the stencil from the collection and the white gold Dora metallic paint, stipple the script through the design, using a stencil brush.    Add the hanging jewel in the same way, to the top right-hand side of the paper.

Fix this to the 8"x8" ivory base card using the Cadence decoupage glue.

From the second sheet of the same design rice paper, roughly cut around four of the butterflies and fix these to some spare white card, using the decoupage glue.

When they are dry, cut out each one, trimming away any excess white card.   Glue these to the original images on the ivory base card, using Imagination Craft's Mixed Media Glue, adding a little silicone glue under each wing.

Lay the word 'caring' from the stencil onto a piece of black card and using a metal spatula, spread the white structure paste over the word.   Remove the stencil and leave the image to dry.   Re lay the stencil over the structure paste and using a stencil brush, stipple the white gold paint over the structure paste.   When dry, trim around the word leaving a small black border around the word.

Glue this to the bottom of the base card.

Lay the larger  hanging jewel from the stencil onto some black card and spread the structure paste over it.   Remove the stencil and leave to dry.   Next stipple the white gold paint over the top of the jewel by laying the stencil on top as previously.

When dry, trim around the image leaving a small black border and fix this to the top right of the base card with silicone glue or sticky foam pads.

Repeat the above but this time cut away the centre of the jewel and the feathers, leaving an open oval.   Glue the open jewel to the left-hand side of the base card, using the mixed media glue.   From the 'cut out' centre, cut out the very centre piece only and glue it to some black card, trim leaving a tiny border of black showing, then glue this in the centre of the open oval.

Glue two blue gemstones to the centre of the hanging  jewel on the right of the base card and two to the centre of the open jewel on the left.   Glue two very narrow, small black strips to either side of the jewel in the centre of the open oval and glue two blue gems to each black strip.   Glue two gems to each of the hanging chains and  the card is finished.   Hope you like it.

Please pop back again soon as I will be sharing another card made using this collection.   Stay safe and well.   Catch you all again soon.

                                                                  Love and rainbows,

                                                                   Hugs   Jennifer xx.
