What are you doing this Bank Holiday weekend? I hope you enjoy it however you decide to spend it. We are having a quiet one at home like most people I suspect, because of Coronavirus. I have a sneaky peek for you of one of my sample cards made using Imagination Craft's new Mixed Media Textures Collection, to be launched by Mandy on the Create & Craft T.V, Channel on Tuesday 26th. May 2020. I have used rice paper, a stencil, stamp and dies from the collection, Sparkle and twinkle along with Cadence acrylic paints, Dora copper metallic paint and Finger Wax.
Matt a square of brown card onto the 8" x 8" ivory base card, leaving a quarter inch border of the ivory base card showing.
Cut a slightly smaller square of white card and paint with the Cadence yellow acrylic paint.
When dry, lay the stencil onto the right-hand side of the yellow card and using a piece of cut 'n' dry foam or a blending tool, spread the sepia distress ink through part of the design.
Remove the stencil and leave the image to dry.
Lay the same stencil design on the on the left-hand side of the painted card and secure to your worktop with masking tape. Using a metal spatula, spread the copper Sparkle and Twinkle through the design. Remove the stencil and leave the image to dry.
In the meantime cut out a five and a half inch circle from white card and using decoupage glue, fix the lady's face from the sheet of rice paper onto the circle and trim away any excess rice paper from the edge of the circle.
Add a little watered down Dora copper metallic paint to the roses in her hair..
Fix the circle to the top right of the yellow painted card using sticky foam pads, then matt this onto the brown matt on the base card.
Take some spare white card and colour it with the yellow, light orange and green acrylic paints, adding a touch of the copper metallic paint.
When dry, stamp the small butterfly from the stamp set onto it six times, using a black ink pad.
Cut out and glue to the top right of the circle, adding some silicone glue under each wing.
Using decoupage glue, cut out the small circle from the rice paper and glue onto a piece of white card.
Punch a small hole in the top and insert a small copper brad.
Fix this to the bottom right of the large circle using sticky foam pads.
Die-cut the tripod, letter plates and key shape using the dies from the collection, from black card.
Colour each piece using some copper finger wax.
Fix these to the base card with sticky foam pads.
Well I do hope you're still with me lol! well done if you are lol! apologies for all the photos but as I have said before, I do like to share all the different stages with you. Thanks for sticking with me to the end. Hope you can tune in to Create & Craft to see the launch of the new collection on Tuesday 26th. May 2020. I'll be back soon with another card from this fab collection.
Love and rainbows,
