'A Moment in Time.'

Hello Lovelies,
Hope you are keeping well and enjoying the beautiful weather we are having.   Everything in our garden is growing so quickly  and the lawns will need cutting once again.    As I sit here typing this post, there are literally hundreds of seeds floating past our lounge windows......looks like a snow storm lol! never seen so many!   Our beautiful red squirrels are coming to our feed boxes regularly, so beautiful to see, we are so fortunate to have them on our property.   It costs us an arm and a leg to feed them but boy are they worth it!    We also have a large variety of birds which we love to see.   The gray wagtails arrived back in April as they always do and we can often hear the great spotted woodpecker pecking away...sounds like someone using an electric drill......so quick!   One thing we haven't seen as yet, are the midges (gnats), which is a bonus,  haven't been bitten yet lol!   Maybe I'm speaking too soon lol!    I've no doubt they will be back at some time.   The horseflies are due in June and again in July, hate them, you don't know they've landed on you until you feel the bite.   Ah well, the joys of living in the countryside.   Mind you, I wouldn't swap it lol!   Thought I'd share a photo of one of our fabulous red squirrels on one of our feeders at the end of this blog.

Well, time to share today's card with you all.   This was made for Imagination Craft's show on the Create & Craft T.V. channel  on 26th. May 2020, when the lovely 'Mixed Media Textures' collection was launched.   When I had finished the card, I felt that something more was needed,   I had a light bulb moment lol!   thought of using one of the key dies from the 'reflection die set, cut off the bottoms of 2  keys and use them as drop earrings !   I think they have worked...what do you think ?   I'm quietly pleased with the result, card now complete.

Matt and layer a black square onto the 8" x 8" ivory base card, leaving a border of the ivory showing.

Take a smaller square of pink pearl card and using a black  ink pad, stamp the face in the top right corner, on a slight angle.    Paint her eyes with watered down green and her lips with watered down antique pink Starlight paints.  add a dot of white pen to each of her eyes.

Using the rice paper from the set, cut around the roses and fix this to a piece of white card, using the Cadence decoupage glue.   When this has dried, cut away any excess white card.

Using a black ink pad stamp part of the collage stamp in the bottom right corner, then glue the roses to the bottom left corner.

Cut out three buttons from the rice paper and fix onto white card.   Trim around buttons and fix to the bottom right of the card, using silicone glue to add some dimension to the finished card.

Stamp 'Carpe Diem' onto a small piece of white card, trim around the words and add some black soot distress ink around the edges.   Glue this to the left-hand side of the card, using silicone glue.

Die-cut two keys from black card, using the key die from the reflective die set.   Cut off the bottom of each key, making one slightly longer than the other as she has her head on an angle and turn upside down and you have a pair of drop earrings lol!

Glue the earrings to her ear lobes.  Yep, quite pleased with the way it looks and has just finished off the card I think.

Stamp the bee only from the large collage stamp, onto a small piece of white card using a black ink pad.    Cut out.     Colour the body with the Cadence yellow acrylic paint.   Paint the wings with well watered down blue Starlight paint, adding a little Dora pearl to each wing.

Glue the bee to the top right of the base card, adding a little silicone glue under each wing.

Oh nearly forgot lol...add a little Victorian Velvet distress ink to her cheeks.

Well, I think I've covered all the stages lol!   Hope you like it.   Stay safe and well my Lovelies, take care and I'll be back again very soon.   Enjoy the sunshine whilst you can because when it rains it may forget to stop lol!

                                                                  Love and rainbows,

                                                                  Hugs   Jennifer xx.
